#wishlistwednesday – The Clutch Bag

So, I’m a school mum now. My Mr Almost 5 started Prep this year. My daughter turns 3 in a few months. Cool story, but I can almost hear you asking – what on earth does that have to do with clutch bags??? I’ll tell you – I realised something recently – I don’t actually need to be carrying around an enormous handbag filled with toddler paraphernalia anymore! Enter: the clutch bag. Great, but I do have a few requirements before I’ll elevate any clutch to ‘must have’ status: It has to be big enough to fit my phone, keys, lipstick and some cash in it. It has to be affordable – under $100 (or even better – under $50!) It’s got to have something to set it apart from the others – whether it’s the print, it’s functionality or price – there’s got to be some wow factor. Here are four clutch bags that have made the cut and made it onto this week’s Wishlist. This funky little ‘Good Vibrations’ clutch is from Pickle and Co. I love the bright lining and tassel and the fact that it’s handcrafted in Brisbane. You can make it yours HERE for $40. A favourite label of mine at the moment has to be Caramel and Co (another Brisbane based business!) for their simple, classic and affordable bags. This ‘Vegas’ clutch comes in black, pink, silver (pictured) and gold with hot pink lining. You can have your very own HERE for a tiny $34.95. There’s nothing like adding some serious bling to an otherwise fairly serious outfit. This eye catching clutch from SFH Designs is guaranteed to turn heads, and...

#wishlistwednesday – The Business Shirt

We are undergoing a dress code revamp at my school at the moment and moving towards a more business/corporate look. An essential part of a business/corporate wardrobe is without a doubt a collared, tailored business shirt.  After a quick glance at my current wardrobe I realised that I have one. One lonely plain white business shirt. Enter: The Shirt Muse (formerly known as Geisker). This brand is proudly Australian owned and made (big tick from me) and their shirts are made from the highest quality cotton (read: they are super soft, comfortable to wear and easy to iron). Further, they have a large range of colours and prints to choose from. So while my one lonely white business shirt will still be on high rotation (versatility plus), adding a few of my favourite The Shirt Muse shirts from my Wishlist below will give so much more variety to my wannabe corporate wardrobe. Bossy in Blue $99 Checkmate $99 Monte Carlo Dream $135   Victoria $99 A word on styling the business shirt – rest assured it need not be boring! Wear under a dress, tucked into a skirt, print clash or add simple accessories like a slim belt. Just check out how these stylish babes wear their business shirts… Clockwise from top left: Two Corporate Girls Teacher Style by Georgina teacher.style Teachers on Trend Do you need to add a business shirt or two to your wardrobe? #wishlistwednesday – Brogues

So while it is technically still summer, the fashion world has officially moved on to Autumn and winter. Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to preview the A\W16 lines for Rockmans, Table Eight and W Lane, and lots of other labels are launching their A\W lines right now too. I must admit, as much as I love summer fashion I am so looking forward to the fashion that the cooler months have in store for us. My Wishlist this week is all about brogues.  These shoes are perfect to wear casually and to work – adding a certain masculine edginess to any outfit. Through Autumn I’ll wear them with a summer sundress or cropped pants.  Through winter I’ll wear them with a skirt and tights or with my jeans on weekends. These rose gold beauties are from ASOS and you can buy them here for $209. I love the open back on these brogues – perfect for wearing while the weather is still warm. They’re $168 from Midas Shoes – make them yours here. Another gorgeous pair from Midas – this time in a super versatile tan colour with cut outs! They’re also $168 – buy them here. If you like this pair of brogues from Mollini – run don’t walk! These babies sell like the proverbial and come in four hot colours. They’re $160 and you can buy them here. You just can’t go wrong with classic black. These are from ASOS and they can be all yours for a tiny $60 by clicking right here. Will you be wearing brogues this Autumn and Winter? Lily...

#wishlistwednesday – The Culotte Jumpsuit

Have you ever noticed how so much of what we wear is directly linked to our weather conditions? I’m from Brisbane, and the past few days here have been HOT. Humid and hot. The heat hits you like a wall when you leave your air conditioned oasis kind of hot. So this week I’m looking for something that I can throw on when I get home from work that is light and flowy. Enter: the culotte jumpsuit. Like a maxi dress – with pants. This style is flattering for so many reasons, but my favourite is that the wide legs give my ample thighs plenty of room. Plus, the bottom hem of these jumpsuits usually hits the mid-calf, drawing the eyes (and focus) down to the slimmest part of your legs. Here are a few of my faves… This wide legged jumpsuit is from a brand I just discovered called Yannika and you can buy it for $145.00 right here. ASOS Diya Culotte Jumpsuit – $47.00 – make it yours here. Little Party Dress Becky Navy Floral Jumpsuit – $59.95 – buy it here. So tell me, would you try a culotte jumpsuit on for size? Lily...
