#wishlistwednesday – The Gilet

For those uninitiated, a gilet is quite simply a sleeveless jacket. I don’t currently own one and this week I’ve decided I MUST have one in my life. The gilet is a fantastic trans seasonal investment, and buying one in a neutral colour and light weight fabric is the way to go. That means that you’ll get heaps of wear out of it right now, through autumn and layered into winter. Here are a few of my faves that are hitting the shops right now.    Witchery Split Hem Gilet $99.95 BUY NOW    Witchery Waterfall Duster $179.95 BUY NOW    Witchery Waterfall Gilet $299.95 BUY NOW    Target Sleeveless Trench $36 BUY NOW    ASOS Waterfall Vest $47.00 BUY NOW      The Iconic Cheap Monday Slouchy Gilet $29.70 BUY NOW Is a gilet on your wishlist at the moment? #wishlistwednesday Back to School

Welcome to the first of my regular weekly blog posts for 2016 with my new hashtag – #wishlistwednesday! Last year I challenged you every Wednesday to #wearwithuswednesday. So many of you embraced this regular style challenge – it was awesome! This year I hope to inspire your style each week with what I’m coveting, which will include both beautiful basics as well as items that are bang on trend. This week has had me thinking about my back to school wardrobe. I’ve done my quarterly wardrobe audit and realised I needed to update my go-to black heels.    You can buy these simple black heels from Wittner – currently reduced from $179.95 to $99.95 here. The gorgeous girls from Empress Eleven sent me my very first pair of drop crotch pants last week. Ever since I’ve been working on ways to make them work appropriate – I love them so much! You can make a pair your very own for $54.95 here. Taking inspiration from my friend Bec (@ilovethatskirt), I’m loving a pussy bow blouse at the moment. The one pictured above is from Witchery for $159.95 and you can buy it here. OR, you can make like Bec and tie one of your soft belts into a bow over the top of a blouse you already own! What’s on your wish list at the moment? Lily...

Perfect Hats for Playground Duty

In years gone by, I’ve sailed through school holidays with only the slightest awareness of what day it is.  This year is different. Waaaay different. My son is about to start Prep, which means  I am so very, very aware of when school starts for him and therefore when school goes back for me. Mr 4 (almost 5!) is extremely excited to start school and has loved buying his new school shoes (he’s been wearing them every day!) and lunchbox (he’s been using this every day too!). This week’s task is to buy his uniforms (while I try not to cry!). Anyway, it dawned on me last week that I’d better start preparing to start school for the year too – starting with a new hat for playground duty. Unlike other items in my wardrobe, hats are not something I like to spend a lot of money on, so I’ve gathered up some inexpensive options that are perfect for playground duty or something way more fun! The best bit is, if you see something you like simply click on the image to make it yours!                     Which style of hat is your favourite? Lily...
